Cambridge Art Fair 2017 launched last night with a fantastic, well attended Private View. Our huge thanks to all those who attended and especially those who bought art.
A wonderful collection of artists, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, advertisers, VIP's and representatives from the press gathered at Hotel Du Vin on Trumpington Street on the 27th September for the 5th annual VIP Press Launch for Cambridge Art Fair. A few of our guests were fortunate enough to be provided with a very special chauffeur service for the evening, courtesy of Porsche Centre Cambridge.
The Mayor of Cambridge, Cllr George Pippas, was in attendance at the event which takes place every year in the Library and Ruinart Dining Room at the Hotel Du Vin. Representatives from our sponsor Mattioli Woods Wealth Management came along, as did Samantha Sherratt, Head of Supporter Engagement at Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust, our charity partner for 2017. Alice & Dawn from Iliffe Media represented our media partners Velvet Magazine and Cambridge Independent and we were also joined by Caroline from Cambridge Magazine.
It was wonderful to see so many friends and supporters of Cambridge Art Fair attending the VIP Press Launch and we must extend our sincerest thanks to Michelle and the team at Hotel Du Vin for providing such a superb event again.
Thank you so much to all those who came. We look forward to seeing you at Cambridge Art Fair in November.

Cambridge Champagne Company partners with Cambridge Art Fair to bring excellence to the city
Cambridge Art Fair will feature it’s very own Champagne Bar for the first time in 2016, due to a partnership with Cambridge Champagne Company, exclusive UK suppliers of Champagne Dominique Boulard.
Paul Gibson and Sean Moore run Cambridge Champagne Company. Paul has visited Cambridge Art Fair several times in recent years and was very keen to get involved when presented with the Champagne Bar opportunity.
Craig Kerrecoe, Managing Director of Red Dot Events Limited, the organisers of Cambridge Art Fair, said-
“We have served alcohol before at the art fair but Cambridge Champagne Company brings an exclusive product that will appeal to the discerning visitors that come to the fair. We are very pleased to be working with Paul and the team at Cambridge Champagne Company and look forward to hearing what our visitors think of their fabulous Champagne.”
Dominique Boulard’s family have been tending their vines for over 200 years. Every grape is picked by hand, so neither fruit nor vine is damaged. Each of the three classic champagne grape varieties are grown on Boulard family land. His vines grow on a perfect south-facing slope of the Vallée de la Marne, in the Grand Cru village of Mailly, and in a hamlet called – aptly – Paradis.
This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the prestigious wine guides Hachette des Vins and Gault & Millau. Indeed Dominique’s champagnes have beaten in blind tests many of the more famous brand names.
Visitors to Cambridge Art Fair will be able to buy a glass of champagne at the event and will be offered a special discount on cases of 20% off retail price, delivered free within 10 miles of Cambridge (£15 for delivery beyond 10 miles). A glass of the Reserve will cost £6 per glass or £10 for 2. A glass of the Grand Cru will be £8 per glass or £15 for 2.
The Champagne Bar will be in the Large Hall, between the doors through to the Small Hall, right the very centre of fair.

Red Dot Events Limited Directors, Craig & Marlo, the organisers of Cambridge Art Fair, were invited to the Jeremy Sallis Lunchtime show on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on 19th September to talk about the art fair in the 'Arts & Entertainment' section of Jeremy's programme.
A recording of the interview is available below...
We're thrilled to have been selected as one of the best things to do in the entire UK during October, in the blog from Holiday Lettings from Trip Advisor.
They've published the article on their blog, which attracts an audience of around 7 million visitors per month and are promoting it through their social media channels to over 235,000 followers.
It's a real honour to have been selected and evidence of the fact that Cambridge Art Fair has a national impact and reach, a great achievement considering we are only in our 4th year.

Community. Culture. Commerce.
Thank you so much for supporting the 4th edition of Cambridge Art Fair, proudly sponsored by Elms Cambridge BMW. As an attendee you will become a vital part of a process that contributes significantly to the local, regional and national economy, supporting hard-working independent businesses and the careers of talented artists.
If you have been to the fair before, you will already know that this event supports independent galleries and art dealers from all over the UK and beyond by giving them opportunities to showcase their portfolios to buyers of art in the eastern region. This, in turn, supports the careers of all of the independent artists that they represent.
Cambridge Art Fair also creates a high quality marketplace for buyers of art in the region, meaning that they don’t have to travel to one of the London art fairs in order to source the best work available- we have always worked hard to bring the best galleries and dealers to Cambridge and this year is no exception.
This beautiful city is not some far flung suburb of London and it warrants, in fact it deserves it’s own cultural offering and identity. We are proud to be working with our many sponsors and partners to bring the best of the art industry to the region for one weekend each year.
The event also supports the local economy by generating thousands of visits to the city centre across the four day event, many of whom patronise the surrounding shops, cafes and restaurants during their visit. The commercial sector in the region recognises the value of the event now: we are proudly supported by several high-quality businesses, meeting our goal of creating a bridge between commerce and culture, to the benefit of all involved.
Our thanks go to all of the wonderful businesses that have supported the event this year- Elms Cambridge, Mattioli Woods, Cambridge Live, Cambridge News, Cambridge Magazine, Hotel Du Vin, Cambridge Champagne, Puddini Caterers, Parrot Print, Cambridge Plants, Activ Canvas, Go Vocal Media, Cambridge TV, Majestic Wine, Local Secrets, The British Shop, Independent Cambridge, Connection Seating, Mama Bombon and our Charity Partner Addenbrookes Charitable Trust. Your contribution to this event is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all of our wonderful exhibitors for their continuing support of Cambridge Art Fair. As always, the smooth running of the art fair relies on the commitment and professionalism of our volunteers and staff. We thank them all for their invaluable contribution- we simply couldn’t do it without them.
We hope you enjoy the art fair this year and find something beautiful that you can treasure for many years to come.
Thank you for coming.

The management team at the very lovely Hotel Du Vin & Bistro in Trumpington Street have agreed to partner with us for the 3rd year running. They will again host our VIP Press Launch & Reception, one month before Cambridge Art Fair opens.
This VIP Press Launch & Reception event is a wonderful opportunity for CAF exhibitors, featured artists, VIP's and the press to get together and find out about the forthcoming art fair. It creates a lovely buzz before the art fair and generates lots of publicity.
We are enormously pleased to be working with Hotel Du Vin Cambridge again- the previous two Press Launch events have been wonderful experiences for us and we look forward to this year's event.

We will also give you digital copies of the photos we take of you and grant permission to use the images for portfolio purposes. We will also give you a batch of free entry tickets to the art fair in October to share with your friends and family.
Ages are a guideline only. We will be looking for models that can demonstrate a wide range of facial expressions.
If you are interested in taking part, please click here to email Marlo and attach at least one recent head shot and body shot as well as your contact details and availability over the next 3-4 weeks.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Established in 1989, Lynne Strover Gallery has earned its place as one of the UK’s leading provincial British Contemporary Art Galleries.
“There was no art in the house I grew up in, there was no bathroom either. I failed my art exams so when the gallery opened its doors 25 years ago it must have been destiny. I can think of no other reason. All consuming, impossible and exhilarating at the same time it soon became a way of life, a thrilling journey that I couldn’t have done on my own.”
Lynne has consistently curated diverse, hand-picked exhibitions, showcasing talent from across the British Isles. Her unique style and eclectic taste means she has played a part in helping many Cantabrigians adorn their walls with incredible and timeless pieces, and she continues to do so in 2015.
The Gallery forms part of a 19 century National School which was converted into a house and showroom in the 1970’s. It sits in the centre of the picturesque historic village high street between the popular Ancient Shepherds public house and the Church of St Mary the Virgin, first recorded in 1217.
Alterations to the building in the 1990’s created light and airy spaces ideal for showing contemporary paintings and sculpture in an intimate domestic setting.
Lynne Strover Gallery can be found on Stand C4a in the Large Hall at the 3rd edition of the Cambridge City Art Fair.

Special thanks go to Charlotte from Hotel Du Vin for arranging such a fabulous evening for us and to Simon Denning for taking such wonderful photographs.
