Our volunteers at the Art Fair are essential to making the event run smoothly. Volunteering is a great way to see the art fair from a different perspective, meet new people and promote art in the community.
Below is a list of the volunteer assignments. Please take a moment to look through them then contact us with the position(s) and time slot(s) you desire. You are welcome to sign-up for multiple shifts. We ask that you remain flexible, as it is sometimes necessary to make adjustments on-site.
Greeters Greeters will be at the three main entrances into the building, welcoming all visitors to the art fair and directing them upstairs to the Registration & Welcome Desk. This role is perfect for anyone who is friendly and energetic.
Flexible Volunteer If you are flexible and easygoing, this is the spot for you. Flexible volunteers are assigned to one of the above roles as needed. Due to the nature of the art fair, it is incredibly helpful to have a handful of flexible volunteers to fill in the gaps or unforeseen situations during every shift.
Each of the public days will be split into shifts. You can select one or both shifts on each day.
The Recruitment Process
A member of our management team will be arranging an informal interview event to meet all the applicants, explain the roles in more detail and answer any questions you may have about the art fair. Attendance of this event is important to enable us to determine which applicants are suitable for each role. You will be notified of the date of this event at the appropriate time.
We know that most volunteers are here because they enjoy the Art Fair and they want to give back to the community, but that doesn’t mean we can’t show our appreciation for all of the time and energy you put in. We can give you a batch of free entry tickets for your family & friends to visit the art fair. We will also reimburse you for reasonable travel costs- please detail your proposed travel arrangements & costs as part of your application.
Be Informed. Look through our website before you get to the art fair and visit pages like our exhibitor list. Learn as much as you can about the art fair, especially the layout, since once you put on that volunteer shirt, people will come to YOU for information!
Wear Comfortable Shoes. Volunteers are on their feet frequently during the art fair, and we don’t want you to get blisters.
Drink Plenty of Water. It can get busy during the art fair and dehydration can be dangerous. We will provide you with a bottle of water for each shift.
Be Flexible. It’s a huge help to us when volunteers are patient and understand that we may need them to do a different task than they’d originally been assigned. That being said, we’ll do our best to keep you happy.
Thank you! Cambridge Art Fair wouldn’t be the same without you!
