Cambridge Art Fair just wouldn't seem the same without the ever-popular Lime Tree Gallery, so we are very pleased to announce that they will be back for the 5th year running in their favourite spot up on the stage.
East and West, village and city, Lime Tree Gallery started in Long Melford, Suffolk and expanded to Bristol. They specialise in contemporary Fine Art and Glass, holding regular exhibitions throughout the year, each one accompanied by a fully illustrated web catalogue. They have a particular love of contemporary Scottish artists and will always have a varied selection of their art on show. Ranging from the traditional to the modern, the figurative to the abstract, each exhibition is complemented by a selection of fine individual Glass pieces, mainly from Britain and Sweden. It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that The Raverat Archive will be participating in Cambridge Art Fair for the first time this year.
Gwen Raverat (1885-1957), grand-daughter of Charles Darwin, was a leading figure in the revival of wood-engraving in the first half of the 20th Century. One of Rupert Brooke's Neo-Pagans and Virginia Woolf's Bloomsbury group, her best-selling memoir, Period Piece is still in print 64 years after its first publication. She has an extensive following; with work in galleries, museums and private collections worldwide, and a number of publications written about her life and work. Gwen died in 1957, a Cambridge institution. The Raverat Archive aims to promote Gwen Raverat’s work through exhibitions, lectures and by the sale of books, prints from the estate and other merchandise via their website and selected stockists. Please make sure you go along to Stand G7 in the Small Hall (facing the coffee lounge area) to discover more about this fascinating Cambridge institution. Click here to visit their website.
