New Exhibitor- Imagine Gallery

23/5/2014

Comments

Picture
Imagine Gallery has been established  in Long Melford since 2005. Two years ago we expanded and moved into much larger premises. The gallery is now spread over two floors, plus an outside terrace. We also have a framing department.

We hold an average of six exhibitions a year, showing artists from the UK the EU and America. In the past we have exhibited many artists who are 'household names' but we balance this each year by holding solo exhibitions of at least one newcomer.

Imagine Gallery will be found on Stand G3 in the Small Hall next to the pop-up Cafe.

East and West, village and city, Lime Tree Gallery started in Long Melford, Suffolk and expanded to Bristol.  We specialise in contemporary Fine Art and Glass, and hold regular exhibitions throughout the year, each one accompanied by a fully illustrated web catalogue.

We have a particular love of contemporary Scottish artists, and we will always have a varied selection of their art on show.Ranging from the traditional to the modern, the figurative to the abstract, each exhibition is complemented by a selection of fine individual Glass pieces, mainly from Britain and Sweden.

Lime Tree Gallery participated in our inaugural fair last year in the Small Hall and this year will be found on Stand E3 on the stage in the Large Hall.

Blue Contemporary is an Art Dealer specialising in original, contemporary works of art from the Americas as well as international artists from around the globe.

The goal of Blue Contemporary is to introduce North & South American contemporary art and sculpture to the UK and European markets. Blue Contemporary’s focus is on mid-career, ascending, contemporary and modern artists who are actively pursuing their craft. Many of the artists are collected globally and have museum acquisitions.

Marlo Gilbert established Blue Contemporary after she moved to the United Kingdom from Los Angeles in 2012. Prior to her move, she spent eight years as Director and Curator for The William Merrill Gallery in California and has been active as a dealer ever since.

Marlo exhibited with us last year and is pictured below with partner Simon (rear) and local Artist John Lyons and Writer/Playwright Jean Rees-Lyons. Blue Contemporary will be found on Stand D4 in the centre of the large hall this year.

New Layout for 2014

1/5/2014

Comments

We are pleased to announce several layout improvements for Cambridge City Art Fair 2014, including:
  • Access to the event will now be via the main doors into Guildhall from Market Square.
  • Visitors will climb the main staircases from the front reception and 'arrive' at the event at the Welcome Desk on the galleried landing, where several 'Meet The Artist' events will be taking place throughout the duration of the fair. Access into the fair will be through the Council Chamber and then into the Large Hall.
  • The pop-up Cafe will be located at the back of the Small Hall this year to enable better access to those with reduced mobility and to families with pushchairs.
  • We have introduced a horizontal aisle (Aisle D) to improve movement around the fair and better link the Large & Small Halls.
  • The Wrapping Station will be located inside the Council Chamber.
  • Increased occasional seating around the fair.
  • We also have use of a Council Meeting Room for free talks and demonstrations and the backstage area for 'The Green Room', a chilled out wine bar facility.
