We are very pleased to announce the launch of a programme of FREE talks & presentations that will take place during Cambridge City Art Fair 2014. These talks, delivered by respected members of the art community, will offer visitors an opportunity to learn about many different aspects of art, including acquisition, conservation and even inspiration.
We have already booked several speakers for the programme. Laurence Broderick, the world-renowned Sculptor responsible for 'The Bull' in Birmingham, will be talking about the inspiration behind his work. Marlo Gilbert, the former Director and Curator for The William Merrill Gallery in Los Angeles and now Cambridge-based dealer, will be talking about the four golden rules to selecting & purchasing art that is right for you.
We also have a representative from The Fry Art Gallery in Saffron Walden talking about their fantastic collection of 20th Century art and from Access Art, our official charity partner for 2014, talking about exactly what their wonderful charity does to give people access to the arts.
Although the talks & presentations are free to attend for visitors to the art fair, places are strictly limited, so visitors must register for a place in advance. All places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
There will be 6 talks & presentations on Saturday 11th October between 11am and 5pm and 4 more on Sunday 12th October between 11am and 3pm. Each talk will last for approximately 30-40 minutes.
More details to follow shortly.
